Powdercoat Logistics
I'm finally getting around to locating a shop that can powdercoat my wheels gloss black from the standard ferric grey. Unfortunately, the only place I've spoken to that is able to blast them and perform the dismount/remount/balance wants over 8x(!!!) as much as the next best facility, who require the wheels be brought in already removed.
For any of you that have had wheels painted/powdercoated in the past, and had to take them in alone, how did you deal with the process? Are there tire shops that will let you keep your rim-less car in their bay until the job is done at another facility and ready to be reinstalled?

I'd put your car on jack stands, rent or borrow a truck, take the wheels/tires to a shop to have the tires dismounted, and then take the wheels to the powder coat place. Very convenient if you happen to have another set of wheels/tires for your car, to be able to use it in the meantime.

Or see if someone has a set of wheels for sale locally that you could rent for a couple of days for a nominal fee. Especially if you're not planning to drive it and just need something on there to avoid the hassle of jack stands, perhaps a forum member could help you out for a case of beer even.

Hell even if you have a friend with winter set that's stacked in the garage or something.
