Another silly question - Rear Seats
My E90 does not have the load through system. However - I can't believe that I can fold down the whole rear seat - is this correct?

My E90 has no load through and no folding rear seats. This is the standard configuration.
So do you mean you "can't believe that" you CAN'T "fold down the whole rear seat" ? That would be yes, you cannot. However if you have the folding seat option then you can fold the seats and they will be split folding. |

Well in 20 years of buying cars i have never had a car where the rear seat could not be folded. I understood that the load though system gives you a split rear seat but I would never have guessed that the rear seat would not fold down in one piece.
I feel slightly ripped off to be honest! |

Yep, it seems to be a german thing as the A4 is (or at least was) the same.
I don't get it myself, as it really limits what you can carry, in a car that is already limited by being a saloon. Through load was the first box to get ticked on my E46, on the E91 though it's standard.

To be honest it doesn't bother me, but I had read the spec sheet fully so I knew what I was getting. Yes its a rip off, much like the lack of ISOFIX as standard and even a decent radio etc, but it is a BMW and they have always been charging for everthing as an option. Indeed so did Audi and Merc and its only now that things are changing a bit with a few more items being included in standard spec.

What annoys me is having to take car back to the dealer too much for warranty snags and services... i would rather the variable services were at least close and not such a rip off.
I do miss my mazda6 which was more spacious and very reliable for a performance car, shame the cost of running it got too much. I do enjoy the BMW though for sheer driving pleasure and have Mazda3 in the household for load lugging. |

Most of the exec class saloons don't have folding seat, AFAIK.
A4, 3er, 159, IS. Some don't even have it as an option. TBH, I don't know how you all cope - okay I don't fold the seats down every week (then again I have a big tailgate) but even so.

My cheap Hyundai Accent has folding rear seats and my expensive bimmer does not lol. Thats fine, my Hyundai gets recycling duty. But it would be nice to have the feature in a BMW without paying extra.

I also didn't know it was extra till I got my car. I think isofix is standard now. I don't have it on mine though.

ISOFIX was standard in the back but an option for the front when I bought mine - I have through load too but have only used it about 3 times in 3 years!
