I guess this should be updated since the new firmware for the JB4 no longer automatically suppresses CEL code from downpipe. Confirmed on N54tech and I got CEL on my ride home from work, easily deleted through the app though

So will BimmerLink delete the CEL code for good if I get one of these? I’m new to BMW. Thanks in advance!

I might be wrong but i think the code comes back every 50-100 miles.

If you want to hide the code for good, get a flash tune like Bootmod3

Thanks for posting this! Was going to make my first post asking about this but glad I found this after I registered.

Picking up a mint 17 240iX tomorrow and looking at all the different options. Will be my first time putting a software tune on. My main question is a comparison between the Dinan offering and AA8.

I know the dinan has a bypass option on the fly but does the AA8 provide this capability as well?

Do they throw any CEL codes during their usage (on stock internals/exhaust).

Performance for dollar and warranty?

Lastly, what is the estimated total cost doing the software and a propertune at a local dyno (Bimmersport is the authorized AA and Dinan installer).

Many thanks!

The AA8 has been discontinued and replaced with the Active flash.

Neither of these tunes will throw a check engine light.

If warranty is important to you, Dinan is the way to go.

If you want performance/dollar checkout Bootmod3, Jb4 or Active8 flash

Thanks for the quick reply Mike!

Looking at active as my warranty is up soon on the car in about 6000km. How easy is it to select between OE, stage 1 and stage 2 once installing active flash?

Thanks

It takes a couple minutes to flash a new map
