Oh, they've gone for bumper exits for the exhaust.

When is it due? Might be on my list - although the new X3 40i is probably more my thing....

Perhaps this is pure speculation:

I think that's what we are thinking of for the wife. All depends on prices and discounts though...

From what I have read most seem to think the 340i will turn into a m340i. Hopefully them make a touring version...

Likely to match the S4 and C43... probably with a nice price bump too

It will likely look like a mini version of the 5-series.
a stiffer chassis
I'd expect a secondary electric turbo
I'd expect it tuned to #s similar to the existing mppsk
.. all these things should keep it atop the lux sport sedan category and create alil distance

And what exactly would the difference be? MPPSK kit and an M badge?

I can see why only certain cars get the M in front of the numbers, those are quite niche cars. For example, 40i engine in a 1 series = bonkers petrolhead = M badge suitable.

40i engine in a 3 or 5 series doesn't qualify as bonkers. So to me an M lite 3 series would have to have a 50d engine or the 4.4 petrol.

Marketing.

The MPPSK is a pain in that it's not a factory fit option - so zero residual value.

Having an M340 or M440 provides more parity with competitors too.

The M in the 140 isn't just a name, it has been lightly touched by the M division. Similar the AMG with the C43 and the S4.

Never mind the power, just a better suspension set up than the standard MSport would be enough.

Erm, very lightly touched. Over the standard version M sport cars, it has a stiffer set of anti-roll bars, stiffer springs and blue brakes as standard....that's it. A day's worth of M engineering input, and half the day was deciding which colour grey to paint the wing mirrors.

I meant the M Division marketing department

I imagine it will be tweaked suspension, slight power bump up to 370ish and a few m trinkets.
