Penalty for missing front plate in Ontario?

What's the worst case scenario if we're stopped?

Thanks

Mine was $110. First ticket in a year for no front plate. Only in my area which is Maple cause they have nothing else better to do. 2 other cops also came. one in front one on the side and the original in back of me. In the city they never bother me.

I am sorry if you break the law then you pay the price.
I can see how the tax dollars are getting wasted. But the bottom line is people in the police service is doing a thank less job and all what we do is bitch at them as if that we have done nothing wrong and they are just out to get us.
I wanted to be a Cop. I look at them with a different view. I know not every one will agree with me but one day some of you might change the way you look at cops.

You're right... 3 cruisers was not enough. They should've called in the tactical unit.

Honestly, I see your point and have the utmost respect for most cops.

When you pull a vehicle depending on the circumstances there are protocols which they have to follow. So none of us know all the parameters involved in the decession making process and why there were 3 cop cars.

My friend got pulled over 3 times before for having no plates on his TL.

I was stopped downtown YYZ for no plate, $110 fine, I've no real problem with it as I knew i was not being 'honest', except if I was from other provinces then I'd have been perfectly legal, surely things such as licence plate laws should be the same across the country, if more than one province can see no need for a front plate then maybe others could follow suit, I realise the opposite might be the case too.

Abolition of Ontario's Front License Plate

Please read and sign the following petition and send to all your Ontario friends - This is common sense on all fronts.

http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/Ont_Front_Plate/

I realize that this is an online petition and some people have added senseless comments but the facts still stand. So if you have a few more minutes, you should also contact your MPP, state these facts and demand action.

I will post this as its own topic...

Thanks

Unfortunately the Shell touchless wash in Maple is right beside the police station and across from Wegs sportsbar on rutherford rd. Leaving parking lot of shell police cars were pulling out of the station (maybe shift change) first cop noticed me second and third cops followed. They let me drive for a block then pulled me over. Have no problem paying the ticket for no front plate (fully expect it when pulled over) but for 3 police cruisers to stop me I feel was overdoing it. That is my opinion. Not bashing police but maybe excessive. I don't know maybe I'm wrong.

It's $110 as others have stated.

90% of the time or more, it is NOT the first offence they're looking for... usually the "no front plate" ticket is just a secondary or later offence when being pulled over...

Example: pulled over for weaving in and out of traffic like some fast and the furious douchebag... cops do a circle around the car and notice the plate missing and you're getting it too.

Which is what I think they did with me. Everything else checked out so they gave me the no front plate ticket.

You are right there is a $25 cost and applicable victim fine surcharge. What does that mean?

It's $110 everywhere in the GTA. I know because I think I have a ticket from each region for it.

That surcharge is a part of every moving violation.

no this would not be a moving violation so no insurance/no point deduction. however, if you dont pay it, you may not be able to have your vehicle registration/license renewed...consider your fines as paying for the police's donuts and coffee's as they stake you out
