HID Flickering

Hi all

Recently went to an HID Specialist shop to install HID's on my BMW E90 (2008). They fitted 6000k bulbs and upgraded my high-beams to Cobra bulbs.

However - when the keys are in the ignition and the car is started they flicker around 6 times.

I purchased a new canbus ballast only to find you cannot replace this with the kit they've supplied.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Where are these lights fitted? Low Beam? Fog Light?

The flickering could be a bulb check or a weak battery - depending on the location.

The 6000k bulbs are fitted into the low beams - but these don't flicker. It's the LED side lights and high-beams that do flicker.

LED? Sounds like the bulb check flicker - which would be normal for LED's.

You can code out the bulb check if it bothers you. The car sends tiny pulses of electricity to check the bulbs to make sure they are working.

I'll try coding out the bulb check on the high beam LED's and side light LED's tonight. Thanks Jeff

There is a cold and hot check, so make sure you get both.
