I've decided to join BMWCCA, looking for suggestions between Patroon and Genesee Valley chapters. (I'm almost halfway between them, in Syracuse). And since they have a membership drive contest, I'll be happy to go in as a sponsored member for somebody if you want.

I may want to track some, but I'm a true newbie in that, more looking for the car club side (tours and shows, etc). I'm leaning towards GVC, for both location and activities, but most of my fun drives are towards Albany and I know that territory a bit better.

Just to vent a little. I joined the BMWCCA for my mid-Atlantic area. Signed up for my first event a tech session at a dealership paid in advance. I was the first one to show up and wait in line for the event.
Then after waiting a few hours for the 8:00am sign up, the bozo in charge of the event states 'new club members will have to wait and sign last because longer joined members get to go to the top of the sign-in list'
Had been to many Mercedes tech sessions and know how those events should be ran and how great they can be.

You shouldn't have went to the back of the line.
That's unheard of. I would email your chapter president and make them aware.

As far as picking your chapter, this decides which local chapter magazine you will receive and which chapter will receive a small amount of your sign up fee for events.

You can attend any events hosted by any bmwcca chapter.

Patroon does do many HPDE events is that helps.
