Finally ready to talk about it....

I picked up my car last week. Sunday someone decided to back into my car in a parking lot.

Not huge damage, but the car was 6 days old. The scratches on the bumper chipped off the paint and is down to the plastic. There is also scratches on the body just above the joint between the body and the bumper.

I was so distraught, I couldnt even bring myself to do my daily ritual of reading e90post.

Yes its dirty which is also killing me, but i dont want anything buffed out before the insurance adjuster sees it. (I think this is killing me more than the scratch since its been raining here)

Not how i imagined posting the fist pics of my car, but here you go...

Sucks. People can be dicks.

Something similar happened to me a couple weeks ago. Took my front plate off, and a few days later someone must have reversed into me and cracked the front bumper, a couple inches long.

Sorry to hear about your loss....
Look at this as a time to improve with some Mtech.
Good luck on your grieving process

Even worse than a hit and run, i was sitting in the car and got to hear the sound

Yep i got all the insurance info and im waiting on the adjuster now.

I kind of think they are not going to offer to replace the whole bumper, so im trying to not get excited about the prospect of going M-tech. lol.

We'll see what he says.

sorry to hear goody. same thing happened to me in crystal city -- hit and run in a parking lot. is it something about the nova area?

did you file a police report? and did you happen to notice if the parking lot had security cameras by chance?

sorry about your luck, that kind of event really gets me going, at least it wasn't a hit and run but so painful to be there in your NEW vehicle. You'll be good as new soon.

I have 335 e90 same color...its in the shop now for a similar repair...left rear scrape - backed into my mother in law's taurus in my own driveway a couple of weekends ago...stupid stupid stupid

The repair bill is $1200. But, mine includes rear bumper cover and rear qtr panel...cant tell from the pic if your quarter panel got dinged too.

Very sorry to hear and see this. It makes it so much worse while you're enjoying your brand new car! My first E90 ('06 in June of '05) was rear ended when it was five days old and was in the shop for two months. They can probaby repair that, but might decide on a new bumper... either way, good luck and speedy recovery.

OMG...same thing happened to me....only I had the car for about 2 weeks..it was my Birthday to boot. Hit and run....I buffed most of the scratches out but I can still see 2 scrapes indented into the corner of the bumper...each about a foot long.

Debating whether or not to get the Mtech bumper.

What a nightmare. At just 6 days old, I can't even begin to imagine how heartbroken you must have been.

Good luck with the repairs.

I think there is a good chance they will opt for a replacement bumper. As others here have mentioned go for an M Tech or Aero.
