Dealer pick up check list....
I think we need to get some kind of list started for those of us who are picking up our cars soon. I know many of you have had minor problems that may have been able to solve before leaving the lot. Some examples that I have heard: no oil, fogs don't work, bulb colors don't match. All contributions are welcomed. Please feel free to take over this thread. Thanks guys!

Check the Glove box for the following three things:
1. The rechargeable flashlight 2. The Fob Shell to use with the Emergency/spare key (there's a special holder in the the Glove box for it) 3. A souvenier BMW "3" key ring in a gift box (don't know if it's a US delivery thing only) |

I bought a 330i Sport / Premium. Here's a run down of everything I remember receiving.
I got the nets on the seat backs, the spare key fob, and the flashlight in the glove box. I didn't get a key ring, but whatever. I got a leather folio chock full of manuals, a useless intro cd-rom, and other literature. The folio doesn't fit in the glove box BTW. I got a toolkit under a panel on the passenger side of the trunk. I got the split fold down rear seats, which contained a removable plastic ski-bag insert behind the armrest. They also gave me a front license plate holder and mounting screws. In the bag of mounting screws was a sheet of colored stickers to put on the key fobs to differentiate them. Also in the bag were a series of colored plastic caps. I think they might be to cover the license plate mounting screws to match your state's plate color, though I'm not really certain. I got two remote key fobs and a plastic spare key, which works in conjunction with the spare key fob in the glove box. For options, I got the all-weather mats, which came with a bag of four grip mounts. It looks like I'm supposed to drill these things into the floorboards to keep the mats in place. I think I may pass on using those. I also got the factory alarm installed. The alarm has an interior motion sensor which is mounted in the rear dome light. In the earlier cars, including mine, the dome light did not have any slits cut into it, so the motion sensor would not work. Apparently newer cars have the slits cut into them. My dealer agrees and has ordered me a replacement part. There is a thread somewhere on this forum that contains a photo of the the correct dome light for the alarm. The correct slits looks very similar to the microphone slits in the front dome light. - Collin |
