Jb+ vs Dinan Sport

Can anyone tell me pros and cons to each?

Why would I go with one over the other?

Seems the jb+ is cheaper...why wouldn't I just go with that?

Dinan has the Bluetooth option and APP so you can switch boost settings on the fly via your phone. BMS you have to crack the case open if you want to raise or lower the boost.

Secondly, Dinan taps into two sensors versus BMS only does one. I haven't found any data whether one is better than the other.

Myself, for $100 extra and the bluetooth option you get a Dinan product. I have seen in the past BMS typically BETA test their consumers which I'm not a fan of. However, in this case you are paying for a fancy boost controller is all so there isn't much to it.

Why two sensors vs one? Wonder if it improves anything

Dinan has bluetooth features allowing you to change boost wireless

Other than that, they are identical

What about the additional wire on the Dinan? Make a difference?

Depends on how Dinan are using the extra connection ... If it is similar to how a Jb stage 1 works then it will give it a small advantage (~5-8 whp)

Noticed the JB+ is 4.5 psi max and the Dinan Sport is 4.0 psi max

Any noticeable difference?

Anyone want to buy both and let me know how they work out?

Only if they'll stack on each other.

Don't forget the jb+ has 100% trade up credit towards a full JB4 should you want to modify the car more aggressively down the road.

It's a great perk as the mod bug always has a way of showing up more the you think at first

Does anyone have a good estimate of what to expect for 0-60 and 1/4 miles with either of these? How about their "full" versions?

Let's assume stock is 4.8/13.6....what can we expect all else equal? (I guess at full boost gain, as anything less can be estimated from there.)

I understand many factors come into play, but perhaps it could help others like me understand better what to expect. Seeing a hp gain is less tangible to me.

I think a stock 340 can run faster than 13.6 in the 1/4, regardless I haven't taken my 340 with the jb+ to a strip yet so I don't know my time. I have recorded a 4.6 0-60 with a somewhat shitty launch. My tires cant fully stick through first gear, which is fun but doesn't lead to great 0-60 or 1/4 times. I would think it can achieve a 4.4 or 4.5 with a proper launch, but that's just a guess I can't base it on much.

A well driven 340i should be in the low 4 second range 0-60 and high 12's in the 1/4...13.6 is pretty slow. A DINAN Sport or JB+ should push a 340i into mid 12's if driven properly.

So from mid 4s and high 12s to low 4 s and mid 12s with tunes...hmmmm....

I got the numbers from one of the mag review results (motor trend maybe). Mid 4s is pretty consistent with what I figured (what's a tenth or two among friends!haha) but 13.6 as tested to high 12s is a big jump. Interesting.

I'm trying to gauge other cars I have driven that would be similar to that. Most recently I guess my friends 2016 s6. Was a beast for a car that size. Easily low 4s. Not sure I want that much power. Haha. And that was awd so it barely chirped a tire.

What I can tell you is the acceleration in higher gears is very noticeable. It's noticeably faster than stock when accelerating from 80mph and higher... the needle just keeps going and going consistently until well past 100mph

The 340 is definitely not that slow, I definitely agree with high 12s on a stock car. I know edmunds reports a 12.7 with their car.

I run JB+ & DP and beat cars that run the quarter 12 flat. I should be at the track soon enough

fbo tuned 5.0s mostly. My buddys auto 5.0 runs 12s consistently at Texas Motorplex and I usually pull him by a car. His is the fastest NA coyote I know, I pull my other buddys 5.0 by bus lengths lol. This thing shits on coyotes. I did a dig against a ZL1, he got me off the jump but once we got going it was dead even. Thats a 500+ hp car!

That's very impressive I ran against a buddies cp m3 on 50+ roll and kept up better then expected but got pulled on as speed climbed. Are you x drive and I assume you run your jb+ at max?
