USB video playback
Hi
I have searched, but can't find a specific answer. I bought a new usb stick to play movies in the car. I have a 65plate LCI with NBT pro nav. I formatted the usb to MOS-DOS(fat32) Loaded a film onto USB, (which does play on my Macbook pro). I then plug into USB socket in the armrest, idrive recognises the USB stick. The film then shows on the screen , but will not play, just a still screen showing the film title. Any ideas? Steve |

I found the way to get this to work was to create a folder on the USB stick called VIDEO and put movies in there. I just used standard AVI format.
From Idrive, chose additional sources (something like that - can't quite remember - it's in the section where you can select pod-cast's etc) and then it will pick the folder from the USB drive. Select film and then bingo! I found like you that it doesn't work if you just chose the film from within your media menus. I think it is expecting Audio so don't like it. Try it as above and let me know how you get on. .

Once in the car, go to the USB via the I drive and then toggle left where you get the options to browse for more music etc. On one of the menu items it says "more sources" - click in here and select video. Then it should play. What you are doing is just trying to play the file from where you are actually selecting audio and the car is expecting just that; audio not video. You could try it as above with how you have it now just dumped on the USB but you must go to it via the video option in the menu for it to have any chance of playing it. Hope that helps
