Mperformance exhaust tips ..port order.. can we remove them?

Hi everybody, i ordered and will take possession of my new 340 xi (6 sp mt ) and was looking into buying the carbon tips but was told that performance exhaust ordered from port have fixed tips (riveted). Can somebody confirm that?
Also, anybody knows the pipe diameter if i decide to cut the oem and buy aftermarket ones ?

Thanks for the help

Stephan

M sport is just a regular chrome tip, m performance has glossy CF with the ///M badge embedded onto the tips.

Standard MPE comes with chrome tips with a little M on top. If you get the MPPSK I think that it comes standard with the Carbon Tips, which are removable. The silver tips on my MPE are also removable.

i confirm that. Saw and tested the car last week.
Went to parts dept and inquired about switching the tips. It was then that the clerk told me tips were'nt removable unless we cut them out :-(
Hence my inquiry as i had doubts on his saying.
I guess i will find out on my own whem i get the car in 10 days.

If they are tack welded on you can use a mini saw or a cut off tool to break the weld and they will come off.

You can change them just fine.
They are just tightened with a screw.

Not sure but I believe the OD of the mppsk is larger than stock exhaust.

I've bought some replacement tips and want to remove chrome MPerformance tips. How do you remove them? I've heard some people used a rubber mallet and towel as to not damage but I had no luck attempting that route. Suggestions?
