What models did the n52 come in.
Soooo the wife wrote off her 2006 325xi in a solo accident do too weather. The plan is to buy another e90 and keep the write off for parts. My question is what model 3 series did those engines come between 06 and 11. I'm thinking 325 328 and 330? Can someone confirm. Thx

325i, 328i 330i all have different power levels due to the intake manifold. there were many other vehicles with the n52. the older z4, 128i, 2011 528i (n52 for this year and model only) etc. |

Thank you and welcome to my thread.
so all those n52 use the same parts other then mass air flow sensors intakes and Maybe fuel system. Any compnent to raise or lower the hp. But The alternator, water pump, starter, any mechanical part would be interchangeable? Within the e90 |

06 was an odd year. An example being a 325 has a 328 intake but a 330 automatic transmission. With that said many 325 parts will fit on a 335. You just need to check each one to be sure. A 325 will most closely align to a 328 except for things like the ECU and transmission. HP in a 325 is dictated by the ECU. Other than that it is a 328 system.

Not being a smartass, but wiki has become a great source for a quick check at what cars a given engine was used in. Plug your last 7 of VIN into realOEM, see exactly what model engine you have (n52b25, etc.), and from there you can cross-reference parts from that engine across other models.

If wiki could tell me what smassey321 just told me I wouldn't be asking. Smassey321 has the answer I was looking for to my question. Thanks to their answer I have a general idea , what's parts from my wife's totalled 325 I might be able to use if I got a 328 or 330 for say. Not sure y some of you are so uptight. Come over to a vw or Audi forum. Nothing but love there. |

If in doubt about interchangeability: use realoem.com, type in the part number or VIN of your car, and you’ll see what cross references over.
The 325i/330i also have a different VC and PCV setup. Also, advise you don’t buy a N51 powered 328i/128i, unless you’re in an SULEV state (Google search for the list). You might also consider a 2011-2012 X3 28i. That has an N52 with an 8 speed ZF. That combo in my 2011 528i returns about 34 mpg hwy, 26 mixed. |
