50w hid upgrade for failing ballast?
Hey everyone, getting a flicker in one headlight even after I switch bulbs, assuming only issue it could be was the ballast correct?
Went on Amazon and saw an upgrade kit to 50w- has anyone used this? Impressions? My only concern would be extra heat in the headlight-but always looking for a chance to upgrade. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B018UQMQD4..._1491587648810 Thanks ! |

I'd personally stay with stock wattage and a genuine OEM replacement.
Also I'm pretty sure you'd need 50W bulbs to use that ballast correctly and there is an inherent risk when upping beyond stock wattage. Also potential for errors. |

You do not need "high wattage bulbs" for high wattage ballasts. You can run a 55w ballast with a standard philips 85126. You will suffer from no negative effects except the life of the bulb will be lower (but not appreciably). I'm sure TRS has a kit for error free operation. Don't support cheap HID component manufacturers. |
