status 111 choice help needed

Dealer called, e93m3 is now orderable for may production with DCT. I am not sure whether to get 18's or 19's. Both look decent with Jerez Black but I am not sure about ride quality differences. I am a newbie but I hope to take the car on the track a couple times a year. Otherwise daily driver with most miles on average roads here in the southeast. Is the ride quality much different?

Thanks in advance

I have the 19's w/ Jerez. The ride is relly smooth in the comfort setting. I don't know if your getting the EDC but this combo rocks for me.

You're going vert. You want 19's. Just make sure to get EDC (yes, I see the post above).

I test drove a E92 with 19's and EDC. VERY nice ride...better than I expected. I would not let 19's hinder your decision based on ride, because it is FINE.

A few things to consider (prolly more):

The tires on the 18's will be a bit cheaper to replace.
You don't have to shellout extra bucks for the 18's.
Ride will prolly be a bite smoother with 18's as the sidewall is larger.

For me, I am going 19's for a couple reasons:

I like the looks better
Look easier to clean/keep clean IMHO
A bit sportier ride/better turn in response

Either way, it kinda just depends on what you want look-wise. The difference in performance and ride will prolly be small. Question is....do you want to shell out the extra bucks for looks/small difference in ride?

I like the look of the 19's so if the difference in ride is small with EDC, that's the way I am going.

When 16" was the craze everyone wanted 17". When 17" was the craze everyone wanted 18". And so on...

Take a look at a race car's wheels... Weight is the key. If you want bling, go for the 22" with diamond studs like I saw at the Atlanta Auto Show yesterday. If you want racing wheels, go for the BBS LM-R. If you want looks, go for what you like.

Since you don't race cars for a living and 22" won't fit, go for what you like. I think the 18" look awesome on the Grey cars, the 19" look great on the convertible cars and the AW cars. Making decisions on what you want to order should not be based on what replies you get from a forum, it should be based on what excites you when you see it configured on bmwusa.com!

Name one person who can afford an M3 who says "Crap, I cannot afford the extra $1,200 for the 19", nor can I afford the extra $20 to replace a tire!"
