DYNO-N55 PS2 through a 6AT/X-drive results!

Put the car on the rollers this morning finally.
Car is a 2011 X-drive 6AT with 100,800 miles on it.

96-97 octane blend in the tank. No E85.

PS2 turbo/Inlet/DV
VRSF IC
VRSF DP
VRSF CP

BMS Water/meth system running a CM12 @ 90/10 Meth/water. (Spraying a LOT of meth for about 10% added fueling)

Looks like I may have found the limit with the turbo on my particular setup. PWM maxed out at 99% from 5700rpm+ 26.5psi commanded.

Did 6 pulls between 18 and 26psi. Dyno numbers are SAE correction (For better accuracy). STD would show higher numbers.

I figure there's around a 50-60hp loss with the 6AT/AWD combination.

Here's the results and log (26psi)

Interesting, that's about 30-40 whp less than I would expect. Even AT xdrive.

That's what happens when tuners post up there numbers std corrected lol I thought it was a bit low too though for what it is.

The peak looks to be on point to what pure advertises once you convert std to sae and account for AT/xdrive loss.

We have a winner....

There isn't a higher N55 dyno number higher out there running a 6AT/X-drive
in SAE correction without PI/E85/stock LPFP combo.

Very nice! I have the same drivetrain setup and it gives me a good idea what to expect. I will be adding the PS2 shortly. We need some vids!

Now we need some on road/track videos to see how she moves out! Get xHP in that thing next week and it should be a screamer.

Great info! Are you having any transfer case issues? Considering PS2 next year.

I see. Is it normal for the 1st to 2nd auto shift to be slower than 2nd to 3rd. Sometime it seems going from 1st to 2nd @ WOT the ZF 6HP does not snap off the shift. Maybe this is normal... Anyone else experiencing this?

Get the xHP flash (TCU flash) next week when it comes out. It shifts on the same level as the DCT.

Probably even faster to be honest. I'm looking at the shifts video, even my DCT doesn't shift like that.

Nice engine.

Apparently from technical data and a tech from BMW.

Quote:
Vehicles until 09/2010
I recommend due to susceptible pistons, connecting rods and VANOS no more than 360hp. The VANOS bowed in these models to destroy the engine to due to terminating pins. The piston and rod bearings are also quite weak, also BMW has recognized that.

Vehicles 09/2010 to 01/2011
Piston and the VANOS have been completely revised. The early troubles of the engine are eliminated. In a performance improvement I wouldn't worry much.

Vehicles 01/2011 to 03/2012
Build date from 01/2011 an approximately 3kg heavier and more stable engine block was introduced. This increased stability, improved smoothness and no longer known in older models idle fluctuations. Rod bearings has also been revised internally.
But your engine is already pushing 500WHP without any issues and that much mileage. I suspect its all about keeping the car well maintained.
