Dashcam: Blackvue cams w/Power Magic Pro - Advice

Just trying to gather information and research to install this myself when I take delivery in the next few weeks.

I have a Blackvue DR650S-2CH with Power Magic Pro. Have done searches on best way to hardwire into the car and allow parking mode recording using the PMP. If possible, would like to avoid the 'Electronic discharge' warning that lots of people are receiving when hardwiring the dashcam.

Read a few options:
1. Hardwire using 'Mirror Tap', with PMP

2. Hardwire to Fusebox in the glove compartment with PMP

3. Hardwire to Fusebox in the trunk with PMP

Does anyone have any advice on a setup like this?
I'm leaning towards #2.

My DR650GW-2CH is hardwired with PMP using option #3.

There is no fusebox in or behind the glovebox for option #2.

Any reason you went with PMP over Celllink-B?

Prodigy, can you tell me which fuses you used in the trunk? Also, can you tell me the dip switch settings you're using for the Power Magic Pro?

Awesome, thanks! Do you ever get the error warning message stating that something external is draining the battery?

3 questions:

1) For hard wiring the PMP into the M2, which fuse tap did you use:

the mini fuse tap
the low profile mini fuse tap
or the ATO?

2) For the camera's 'memory capacity', is that just the size of the SD card? I already have a few SD cards so I want to go with 16GB and just swap it out with one of my 128 or 256 card

3) Does the back camera video get recorded on the front camera SD?

Thanks!

1. 2 x Mini fuse tap.

2. Yes, the capacity is determined by the size of the memory card, personally I just use a 64gb card.

3. Yes, front & back on the same card, when you view back the footage you have separate files for front & back camera.

Hi Prodigy

Do you have a pic of where you located your front cam? I'm guessing it is on the passenger side beside the rearview mirror plastic hump? If you have a chance, could you post a pic?

I used this for my Blackvue and Power Magic Pro.
It's a very detailed and excellent guide. Credit to Boosted Auto.
You'll need to go buy a few supplies though. Remember to buy a 'mini' fuse tap, not normal sized.

I went to blackvue's website. They have 3 kinds of fuse taps, namely ATO fuse, low profile mini fuse and mini fuse, which one should I get if I want to hardwire my blackvue with power magic pro via the rear fuse box?
