I have paint flaking off my front bumper around an edge of the front kidney grille- anyone seen this before??

Are you original owner and no respray was done on bumper ?

Looks like paint failure and warranty repair.

I am not the original owner, but luckily my car was just picked up extremely recently from service due to some hazing in a headlight and one of the checks BMW required was for any signs of impacts or crash to be looked for before approving a new light housing.

I had thought maybe the grille was removed to replace the headlight but even if it did scrap paint it would be flaking off completely like this. Seems like a paint failure to me too- good to see another opinion.

SA said the same- they may have re sprayed my bumper after fixing a bad curb rashing that occurred at a service awhile ago.

I will say they're being extremely gracious and have locked me into the brand as long as i live here.

Another possible source of paint repair is at the Vehicle Distribution Center. If their was any damage during shipping they will repair and respray. Check out this thread.

interesting.... i will definitely ask about this, since really other than the issue now its very good paint and appears oem according to all signs.
