Hard wiring radar detector question

I followed some information I found on the web referring to Fxx cars about this. However, the conductor colors called out are not in fact 12v switched. After testing every combo I could not find a suitable power supply. There is one there but it is not switched.

All I accomplished by following these was to trigger the passenger airbag light (not to worry I already reset it).

So if anyone has done hardwiring on the F87 perhaps you could share where you located a suitable power supply.

Tx

where do you tap the mirror tap into? I read the 2 addicts post. However another forum member said the M2 has different connectors?

Already bought the mirror tap... now just need to go out and do it

Pre LCI black goes to brown, red goes to green. Post LCI I can neither confirm nor deny that it's the same.

I typically had a better connection when using the front passenger footwell fuse box in my prior E90, F10 and current G01.
Does the F87 have a fuse box up front?

LCI is the same colors. The harness wires are pretty much the same. Plug in on the same colors on the F80/82/87. When I installed mine it worked perfectly and I used the same blend mount that i used on the F82

I assume it's the $129 version needed for the M2?

make sure u get the mount with the thick neck for the mirror.... I got the third version and the stalk was a bit too thick... the piviot point didnt come together close enough.
but I just clamped it down and it holds.

Why use the mirror mount? I just used the suction cups included w my V1. Mounted right under the headliner. Out of sight, and no extra cost. Plus I'm not advertising that I have a radar. Not doggin in the blendmount, just stating an option.

I tend to agree, i have mine in the same spot with no issues plus it seems less intrusive than having it hanging down from the mirror.

I have a real dumb question. I am going to use the mirror tap, and blendmount solution. but, I want to remove that stupid nipple on the mirror so the detector sir flush to the bottom of the mirror. is that just the security led or is the a sensor inside it?

Are you talking about the clown nose?
Curious about that too.

Some bmw models have a move flush version of it.

Yes, the clown nose. All my BMW's have had it, but other than blinking security, not sure what it does. Or if it is removable.
