2018 540i xdrive coming when?

When is the 540 xdrive coming? Please say it's not in March?

550 looks like a 2018.... why wouldn't the 530 and 540 switch?

It's a 2018 because BMW announced that it's a 2018 model year for the M550i and the 530e

https://www.press.bmwgroup.com/canad...ve?language=en

EDIT: I'm hoping everything switches to 2018 soon because the full-screen instrument cluster is a must for me.

The last few years, the next MY has begun production in July. So I assume 2018 540i from 07/17.

Right- wondering if it's worth it for a lease to do a 17- the residual is outstanding.

Has the full-screen cluster been confirmed anywhere for MY18, or is it just our speculation?

2018 Production will start in July but won't hit lots in the US until late August or September. Don't hold your breath on the full lcd in the US for 2018. The Geniuses I have talked with said BMW just would not make such a major change like that one year into a new production.

The question I have but no one can answer is why would BMW create 2 instrument clusters for the same model car?

It's not new. BMW did it for the F10 and F06 too. They have different options and some of those options don't make it to all markets. The real question is why doesn't BMWNA give US buyers the choice? Four zone HVAC is also standard in Canada but not available in the US. Ambient air is available in other markets but not in the US.

My theory is that the full digital dash was not ready for the US with the start of production in November. The M550i starts production on March 15, 4 moths later. In my opinion you'll see it in all 2018 5ers.

Full digital dash looks fantastic in real, and was very skeptical about it. The whole steering wheel, paddle shifters and dash board combo looks amazing.

I agree..I think we see it soon.

I saw the half digital one at my dealer this weekend. I didn't really care for it.

This is the current US spec one that some refer to as "half digital"

Did the f10 ever get the 6WB full digital dash in the US? I mean it's been an option since MY 2013, so it might be some reason the US doesn't get this? :

I don't know but I don't think it has anything to do with the US not having it yet. My guess is maybe it was a supply issue at start of production.

We are getting an optional full digital display on the 3 series here soon. I can't see them offering that on the 3 and not the 5 here.
