MP Carbon Fiber Hand Brake

Is anyone aware of an option for 6spd driver to get the CF hand brake as a stand alone option? I know that IND sells it attached to the alcantara boot but that seems unnecessary as we already have a boot with blue stitching, also not worth $300 when the kit below can be had for less than $500. As BMW sells just the handle for DCT's you have to be able to swap the end without a new boot.

Was doing a search as I'm looking for a separate carbon fibre handbrake piece - any places to get the separate carbon fibre handbrake part from besides IND for this?
(If I was located in the States wouldn't be an issue, but after postage costs to Australia the spend on such part is a bit too much)

Can’t buy the hand brake handle without buying the interior kit.

You can buy the handle/boot combo standalone for the 2 series, then you just swap the handle over to your blue stitched boot. Part number 34-40-2-222-538. Probably around $170 if you shop around.

I did it, and then sold the boot with the white stitching on forum in the 2 series classifieds and recoup some of that. I think got maybe $40-50 bucks on just the boot, so around $125 when all was said and done.

Thanks for that - I did just manage to come across that the carbon handbrake & boot (with white stitching) was sold as a standalone piece.

Are you able to confirm the handbrake piece for part number 34-40-2-222-538 is identical to the handbrake piece as sold in the F87 M2 m performance interior kit for the DCT (part number 51-95-2-411-428) as per the following link?

It sure looks the same but thought to double check if there was anything different between the two - TIA!

Great - that you were able to sell the boot, good idea to recoup some of the cost!

The handle part is the same. You just have to cut the zip tie holding it off the white boot, do the same thing to separate the leather handle from you blue boot, then zip tie the new handle to the blue boot. It's like a 5 minute project all in.
