Problems adding the M Performance Power Kit at the port (VPC) for the 440i
I have a 2017 BMW 440i on order and have been told that the only way to get the M Performance Power Kit is to order is order the M Performance Power and Sound Kit (a $3195 add at the VPC), which is accessory option Z11, and not what I want.
The power and sound kit adds an optional exhaust to the tune and I am not a fan of the exhaust for many reasons which I won't go into here. The BMW M Performance Power Kit, is just a BMW tune, raising the HP about +35. The part number is 11122353337. http://www.shopbmwusa.com/PRODUCT/46...ANCE-POWER-KIT My salesman has done his best to contact BMW NA to order just the tune for me, but has been told they are not offering the tune as a stand alone. What's that all about?

Looks like I answered my own question:
Q: What are the details on the 340i M Performance Power Kit (MPPK)? A: The power kit now only comes bundled with the M Performance Exhaust since they work in tandem. The stock exhaust has too much back pressure to work with the higher flow of the new power kit, so the 340i M Performance Exhaust has reduced back pressure to work with the remapped ECU of the power kit. There's two ways to increase power - intake more air, or reduce back pressure allowing for faster air exit. With the previous MPPK (for the N55 engine) we went the route of more air intake, but for the 340i (B58 engine) we modified the the exhaust system to reduce back pressure and allow the air to exit the car faster, which together with the modified ECU, results in more power.

M Performance Exhaust is different from the MPPSK exhaust, and is available separately. If you want the MPPSK exhaust with valves, you have to get the full MPPSK.

Damn... I have a ER downpipe Im waiting to install so hopefully the MPPSK tune can compensate... I know its designed to compensate for less back pressure due to the new catback, but I guess we will see.

It won't compensate for the lack of cat and you'll get a CEL, unless you have another method of compensating for that.

Purchase the MPE and a Dinan (etc.) mid pipe - It will sound similar to the MPPSK
OR Just purchase the new Dinan Mid Pipe PLUS their Exhaust... Sounds even meaner over the MPPSK |

Anyone add a JB4 (or like device) WITH MPPSK yet? My 2017 with MPPSK installed at port is coming in April and would love to give it some additional boost with a JB4 (or like device).

Dinan axelback with a simple res delete should produce the same result. Probably what I will end up doing... (Saving $400+ on the Dinan mid). Will post when done.
