Normal or not normal?

I replaced my completely blown shocks about 10k miles ago with Bilsteins HD (B6).

Over the weekend I installed m3 arms
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1324184
and while poking around suspension, I noticed this:

Yes, that is oil on my new shocks with less than 10k miles on them.

I haven't called the company yet, but what gives?

PS. Sorry for huge picture. Don't know how to resize it.

Bilstein is a really good shock/strut. I am a little surprised that they look like that I'm such a short amount of time. You definitely should get them replaced at no cost to you.

You talking about the buildup on the inside of the dust boot?

I'm not 100% sure but I want to say mine look the same way. I've actually got the car in the air at the moment so I'll take a look during my lunch break and report back.

Yes, yellow spots on the blue boot.

Forgot to post earlier today but my Bilsteins have the same discoloration. I think it might just be paint transfer from the boot rubbing against the shock body. It doesn't seem to be liquid on mine. Either way, I've had mine on the car since early 2014 (I think) and I haven't had any issues in terms of performance.

Nope not paint. It's oil. I touched it. Played with it. Wiped it. I have pictures with it on my fingers, but stupid photos are too detailed and actually captured my fingerprints.

I am not giving my fingerprints that easy to NSA. they will have to work for it.
