e85 ethanol flex fuel support for n54 Ecu from mhd
Can't wait for this option! No need to do the head work for mixing e85 now. Here's a link to the other website I don't think it's been discuss here yet

I also want to be able to continue to view my % via the Bluetooth app on my phone. Displaying it in MHD is great, but plugging the cable in and dealing with it around my feet is not always desirable.
A splitter type connection from the sensor would be ideal. One connection for the Bluetooth module and another for this. Even better, this new feature from MHD makes use of the 0-5V signal that comes from the Bluetooth module that can be used for other devices such as the JB4. |

Ever since we got e85 locally I've been in love with the fuel. This would be huge for me.

Wireless would be great, but I'm just curious why the OBD port can be used to also charge the device being used. It powers the Cobb but I assume it's so low power that a tablet can't utilize the incoming power?

I actually found an OBD2 cable with a right angle connector and was thinking of a way to stealth mode install it and route the cable through the dash somehow and come out near the tablet mount, this way there's no wires near my feet.. This way all that sticks out is the usb part near the tablet.. I've seen some DIY projects and they wire the power wires similarly to this so I'm sure it'd not look too awful..

Not sure why BT is "a must". The whole idea of this flex fuel integration is that you will no longer need to know how much ethanol is in the tank. The DME will have it covered regardless. Bluetooth monitoring and logging would be nice one day. I don't doubt that. It's certainly not a must.

At this point almost everything else is BT compatible. I'm tired of the cable running across the floor. I can't count the number of times I've yanked it out of the OBD port with my foot.

Op's screenshot is from what you would call a third party. This third party is offering bt for ethanol analyses. Whether or not the rest of mhd will become bt compatible at that time is unknown.

It is certainly relevant.
The implication here is there will be a new hardware connection to the Ethanol sensor. If that means I need to unplug my Bluetooth sender to plug in this new device, Many won't be as enthusiastic as people may think if we are now "required" to plug in and open MHD logging to see that our Ethanol % is where we want it. If I have an E40 tune, and I know I am at E40, then I don't need the DME to auto tune for anything else. I can just imagine going about my day driving the car... "Car feels a bit different today?" I wonder if it is because my ethanol % changed at the last fill up? Lets take a look.... oh. I left my cable in the other car." Both of these abilities together is great. But If I have to choose an auto tuning DME over losing a convenient check of my Ethanol percentage I'm going to think real hard on that. Especially when combined with the additional costs. |

But, I don't believe the sensor will plug straight into the DME. There will have to be a module that interprets the sensor and outputs a compatible signal for the DME. This new module should allow the Bluetooth sender to also connect to the sensor, or use the existing 0-5 volt signal coming from the Bluetooth module that the JB4 uses, or provide it's own Bluetooth signal. I totally agree this is a big deal. But not as enthusiastic as it may seem if we lose a primary ability to know what the Ethanol content actually is. Even if I did come up with a brilliant way to route and hide the cable, I have no intention of plugging my phone in to check these things, especially If I am already trying to keep my phone charged with that cable laying about, or my aux audio cable, or my xxxx..... Maybe this team is primarily programmers and not hardware developers... I get that. Whole different ball game. That's why I suggested the ability to allow both to plug in. No need for this team to develop something that already exists and works great. |

I really don't think that anyone will lose their ability to monitor E85 via Bluetooth. The output on the Fuel it Bluetooth monitor already has a wired output, and my inderstanding is that it can be utilized by this new auto tune feature via the MHD DME converter box. Sounds like a non issue to me
