Strut Brace in Roadster...

Guys,

I am considering ordering the strut bar from tischer for $330. I want opinions from people with the ROADSTER on the effects of the strut brace. I know in the coupe, many owners have said the effects were negligible. But since the vert is a lot less rigid, I would assume the difference is greater. I am not interested in purchasing a $330 part for the sake of beauty in the engine bay. I want a part that will improve handling and something I can feel will be worth the price tag. Any vert owners have this or another strut brace and can talik about handling?

I noticed a significant difference in steering and turn-in when I installed my Strong Strut with its accompanying firewall braces.

Definately a worthwhile upgrade.

-Why not use BMW's strut brace?

With strongstrut I find my car has better turn in and more responsive steering.
I added their firewall braces too, but expect that to be more for looks then any effect vs. the original firewall braces

The Strong Strut is a beefier alternative. The BMW brace only uses 2 bolts to hold it to the strut plates, while the SS one also has flutes for the bar to better secure it and make it more rigid. The BMW one tends to allow the bolts to flex and break over time from hardcore tracking.

Plus the SS one also has firewall braces to replace the hollow tube stock ones. They too are more rigid than the BMW pieces.

-Doesn't the SS brace cover up the top of the struts though?

Nope, the strut tower caps are rings like the OEM ones, but I think the best thing about the SS bar are the flutes that help hold the tower bar in place. A significantly more sturdy design than the OEM STB.

I'll try to take a picture of it on my car when I find some time.

-Thanks, I must have been thinking of a different common aftermarket brace.
