exhaust butt joint, are clamps air tight?

Doing the PE mod. After I cut, to rejoin the exhaust:
1.) If I don't weld it back, will an exhaust clamp alone (like this one) seal the joint up air-tight again? If I use RTV sealant in tandem?
2.) I read our exhaust is 60mm OD down the length of the car, correct?
3.) 60mm = 2.36in, some clamps are sold in 2.25in, some in 2.5in. Which one to get?

The clamp will work fine. No rtv, instead use exhaust paste. Probably not necessary, but if you feel better use it. 2.25" clamp should do it. Another option is take muffler to exhaust shop and have them flare pipe for a slip fit.
