want new turbos / more power
hey,
my e92 n54 is now running (I think) pretty much full bolt ons. I use the car for fast road driving and track days. Im after more power/excitement for the car but my main concern is turbo lag and losing the drivability (not after a drag machine - ive spent a lot of money and effort getting the chassis setup which im now very happy with the way it handles) hybrid turbos seem to be the way forward - does anyone run these for trackdays - hows the turbo lag? who makes the best hybrids? many thanks: thumsup: |

People will vouch for the what they run or what they sell, depending. I'd recommend looking on various forums and threads to determine ultimately the best choice for you. Opinions are great but stick with facts to make your decision. Hybrid twins will have less lag. If lag is your biggest concern stay with the twins. However, today's single turbo's do run really well, especially on a quality turbo. |

go for twins with 15 or 16t compressor wheels and aim for around 500-550whp on e85. should provide good spool and hold power all the way to redline. vtt and rb both have turbos that fit this category. |

Really depends on power goals. Any of the aftermarket options will make more power than stock turbos. You bring up a great point with lag, which is not shown on the dyno (spool is shown on the dyno).
From VTT we'd push you in the direction of either *GC lites *(fastest spool, still make 650+ whp on a max effort tune) or the *GC's* (good spool, we made 777 whp on a max effort tune). Again, for a track day you'd want to dial it back, especially if you have a stock motor. If you want to see dynos or would like more information about why we think we're the best, feel free to shoot me a PM or email and I'd be happy to work with you for a solution that best fits your needs. |

interesting comments, cheers all.
Im after the most reliable power I can get with stock internals together with minimal turbo lag (as close to as the oem curve as possible) another thing is I want to keep the car as a daily driver also (thats why I added the cats as couldnt take the smell anymore - and want to keep it this way) The 15/16t turbos seem to be the way to go. |

Strongly recommend Pure Turbos .. They offer 2 different versions for your car. DD 450-600 whp and High flow 600-700 whp
