Another, Is This A Good Deal Thread!
Hey everyone,
Im thinking about leasing but itll be my first time leasing a BMW. I always usually finance. this will be just a work daily driver since i dont want to put miles on my F82. what do you guys think? 2016 328xi MSRP: 44,320 Price: 37,000 (includes USAA) Term: 36 mo Miles: 10,000 per year Total Down: $529 Monthly Payment: $449 (Includes Virginia sales tax) Tax in virginia on vehicles is 4.1% I believe so i calculated it at around 1500 EDIT: I also just received this response from the CA referring to the loyalty discount: (It’s a $1000 rebate that will lower payments by $30 a month. Remember this ends tomorrow close of business.) this was done through email so i dont have the rest of the details like residual and money factor. sorry.

Depreciation Fee = (Net Cap Cost - Residual) / 36 Rent Charge = (Net Cap Cost + Residual) * Money Factor Depreciation + rent = monthly payment 2016 328xi SA S $40,350.00 Glacier Silver Metallic $550.00 Moonroof $1,050.00 Heat Front Seats $500.00 Harman Kardon surround sound system $875.00 Sport Package Destination and Handling $995.00 Total MSRP $44,320.00 Cap Cost $37,000.00 Processing Fee $685.00 (I'm guessing your dealership will charge around this much) Sales Tax VA (4.15%) $1,563.93 = [(cap cost + processing fee) *.0415] Acquisition Fee $925.00 Title/License/Registration $302.00 (Assuming this amount as well based off of mine in VA) Online System $10.00 Cap Cost plus Fees $40,485.93 Cap Cost $40,485.93 Residual at 62% for 10k/yr $27,478.40 Depreciation $13,007.53 Rent Charge $3,156.48 MF 0.00129 Total base monthly payments $16,164.00 = (depreciation + rent charge) $16,164 / 36 = $449/month Depreciation Fee = (Net Cap Cost - Residual) / 36 Rent Charge = (Net Cap Cost + Residual) * Money Factor Depreciation + rent = monthly payment MF usually start at 0.00134, which you can buy down at .00007 per MSD with a max decrease of .000049 with 7 MSD. If you have $3,150 to put into refundable security deposits I would do so ($450*7 as they round your monthly to the nearest 50 to calculate MSD amount). It will get your monthly payment down to at least $419/month, and best of all you'll get it back at the end of your lease assuming you don't face any excessive wear/tear. If you don't want to put any money into MSD the starting MF they are giving you (.00129) as opposed to .00134 is good. Of course that's assuming the figures I've provided are close to what your offer is. |

Doesn't sound like too good of a deal. Got my wife's 2016 340i in September. $60,800 msrp, taxes paid up front (otherwise $0 down), 12K miles per year for 36 months, $471 per month.
For that high of a payment on a $37K purchase price, I'm guessing they really jacked the money factor. |

15k - 63% 12k - 65% 10k - 66% In Nov. (and I'm assuming today) the residuals for a 2016 3 series are: 15k - 60% 12k - 62% 10k - 63% If you want lower monthly payments you need to get the highest residual along with lowest selling price and lowest MF. The monthly one will pay for 10k today will be the same monthly one would have paid for 15k back in October due to residuals. |

Please note that VA charges a 4.3% sales tax on the full price of the vehicle even for a lease which has to be paid up front. You can finance that cost over the lease term by paying interest. This is one of the main disadvantage of leasing in that state.

Georgia is the same way except 7%...but when I turn in the lease, the residual value of the vehicle will reduce the tax liability of the next vehicle I purchase or lease. Paid my tax up front as my only form of down payment.

See if your dealer will go $1,000 drive-offs and $399/month (including 1st month payment and all taxes). But I think you could do the same with a 2017 model in that same configuration. Your model doesn't even have the premium or Tech package. They will probably call you back near the end of the month.
