Windshield easily cracked?

Got a windshield cracked over the holiday when driving on the highway.
Got it replaced with OEM glass two days ago and then that got cracked right away again yesterday.

Both crack were similar that it's a single rock chip couple inches away from the top of the windshield, and both started as a relative small crack and then got much longer later.

Do people have windshield cracking problem like mine? Or am I just very unlucky?

Sorry, I think it's just you. I took a decent sized rock (or something) off the passengers side of the windshield the other day and there's no chip / crack to be found. I think it was kicked up by a truck two lanes over.

Stop tellgating, fam.

Just kidding, but I'd say bad luck. The windshield seems pretty resilient. There's a mining company near where I live and I always see their trucks on the road. There isn't a day that I go to work and don't have to pass by a gravel truck bouncing down the interstate, and the most I've gotten is a small chip that just needed to be sealed.

Yeah, I didn't tailgate and had some good distance but maybe if I did tailgate the rock would had just hit my bumper :P Just kidding.

It was just strange to watch a crack developed so fast. I talked to the guy at Safelite and of course he remembered me since I was there just two days ago.

He told me that they had that happened to other customers. Just bad luck I guess and he didn't notice anything with the BMW OEM glass being fragile.
