The VW scandal will lead to all diesel cars being phased out of the US market. There is no such thing as a clean diesel and BMW is probably reducing its liability and reputational risk here.

Collision avoidance not optioned on the dealer cars? Unfortunate, especially considering how so many other cars have it standard now.

I'm fairly sure the optional dash on the F10 is real leather. The current 3er also has an option of a real leather dash.

Will there be a base?

Or just Chrome and M Sport?

I like the current base with less chrome...

No, F10 and previous leather dashboards have been the real thing. Sensatec look like leather, but is fake.
Sensatec have been used in last generations of BMW, as a cheaper solution to leather, you get the "leather" look, but not the feel.

Sucks we're not getting the same optional wheels for M Sport that the European market is getting. I like either the 19" Black 664's or the 20" Individual 759's they advertise the 5 Series with! No to mention it looks like we won't be getting 4-zone automatic climate control, which in turn will result in a display up front for climate control that is not full color. Like this:

Late to the party here, but seriously, comfort access is still an option? Embarrassing

It's ridiculous, especially at this price point.

And the rear view camera, which is required to be standard on all cars in the US in 2018. Couldn't have thrown it in a year earlier, BMW? Ridiculous.

I'm annoyed they went with the 10.25" screen for the navigation. Mercedes has a 12.5" screen in the E class, and so does BMW in the 7 series.

When I got my F10 I used to mock Mercedes for using outdated 7" screens. Now it is time to mock BMW!

The G30 has the same size as the newest 7 series, 10.25".

And the screen in the E-class are facing straight backwords, while in the BMW's it's angled towards the driver, and I feel that's much better.

Interesting about the climate control. I thought the front display was the same for the 2-zone (option code 534) and 4-zone (option code 4NB), and that the one in the first pic was the standard one.
