Ticking noise when idleing

I was just at the ATM and noticed a strange ticking noise. It went away if I revved it a bit. No noticable performance issues. 2008 335i with about 77k miles. Recently did the walnut blasting. Have not done the belt of WP/t-stat.. no codes.

Thoughts?

Agreed. You guys are hearing the noise from your fuel injectors.

Remove the engine cover and the sounds will be even louder.

The ticking goes away when you rev the engine because the RPMS go faster so the clicking becomes a single noise because you can no longer discern the slower pulses. And because the engine gets louder.

Fuel pressure relief valve? Interesting. Is this something that can be replaced? Where is it in http://www.realoem.com engine diagram? Or is it a component integrated into the fuel rail?

Ok, so that is integrated into the HPFP. Here's another thread about that noise together with it's recording.

Mine has a slight ticking noise at idle since I bought it at 23k miles.
Its only on a cold start, doesn't tick right away(usually after 30 seconds after cold start), it goes away at some point as engine warms up and its only at idle if I rev the engine it goes away.

I feel its one or two of the injectors.

Injectors. Totally normal. My car does the same as did my previous 335i.
Someone mentioned taking the engine cover off. It's crazy loud when driving.

I had a new ticking that started directly after an pil change, walnut blast and spark plug change... Its quite loud any ideas ? it is present at idle and rises with RPM, thought i cant hear it as the RPM rises because of the noise from exhaust.
