Hiccups when starting cold and sometimes when warm
Hey peeps,
I've noticed lately that when I start my car, it will have this intermittent hiccups while idling and warming up. It sort of resembles misfires but then it settled down. I have ran Carly for BMW several times and I do not have any misfire, etc faults. - Spark plugs are new - Coils, as far as I know, are still original coils (car has 145K miles) - Walnut blasting was done 46K ago, so this is due for a nice blasting. Could my hesitation at idle be fouled up intake valves? Or can I still have bad coils and not throw any codes? I am thinking of purchasing all 6 new Delphi coils but not sure if I should wait until codes relating to bad coils start popping up. I am ordering the walnut blaster kit today, because I know this is due and needs to be done. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

Sounds like it could be injectors.

Check your spark plugs and see if any of them have a strong fuel smell. Easy way to spot a leaking injector. I had a similar problem, and fresh coils and a walnut blast solved my problem. 2007 with 95K miles, still on the original injectors. Good luck.

1. Walnut blast 2. Coils 3. Injectors Hopefully 1-2 fixes the issue and 3 can hold strong a bit longer.

I'm having same issues, I have new plugs, coils, fuel pump. Quick way to check your injectors is to leave the car sitting overnight took out plugs see if they were wet or smell like fuel and nothing also if you can datalog your afr for each bank when you letting off the throttle it should go to a number like 234 I think instantly and stay there. Leaning towards intakes valves. It's been a while since I had my valves blasted.
