Meth kit

Anyone with a methanol kit on the 340? Sorry I don't know much about it. Is a hard thing to maintain is it a dumb mod for daily driving?

It is not hard to maintaining methanol kits ... Make sure it is installed correctly and check it every now and then to make sure you did not run out of meth

What mods are on the car now? For the B58 the meth gets you around the DME's fuel limit so normally after JB4 and intake meth would be your next move. BMS makes a bolt in spacer to mount the nozzles and with their new 3 gallon stealth tank there is no loss of trunk space!

I would say you have the basics covered so you are good on the meth kit.

Completely transforms the car. Its like going from stock to Jb4 and then some. It makes amazing power on this platform. I made 60 awhp just on 50/50 boost juice. Its good for 80+crank.

Probably as fast as stock m3? Also is there a thread showing how to setup and maintain a meth setup?

I've drove a m4 and no doubt this would smoke it. Of course, it's not really apples and apples since I'm xdrive. But, this car has some serious balls right now. No special way to maintain just make sure you don't run the tank to low or else you'll get air in the lines and ruin the pump. Just look at logs to make sure you have optimal flow and check the lines in the engine at to see if there's air bubbles. If there's bubbles go into the jb4 program on your lap top and purge the lines. Other than that just fill, set your additive and go. Btw get the EWG Connector and go dual cm7. If you need help or have more questions feel free.

Theres a video of a half mile event with Terry from BMS in his 340i with jb4, intake and meth only, and he beats the stock M3 by a substantial margin.

Can you switch maps so you're not running on meth on a daily basis?

Yes. Map7 is meth map only. However, I always leave it in map 7. It starts spraying under full throttle only or 8.9 lbs of boost. I just use 100 VP M1 Meth. Car is rocket. Made 410 awhp and 410 awtq on a heartbreaking mustang dyno and using 50/50 boost juice.

Whats the setup and install of the meth kit like? Difficulty? Hose routing locations? Cutting/drilling holes?

And then what's life like while daily driving on map 7? How often do you run out of meth? Which size tank do you have? Where can you buy meth? How expensive?

The biggest PITA is running the lines from the trunk to the engine bay through the interior panels. Roughly 4-5hours to set it all up. No drilling.

Love it. The car is totally transformed. And, depending how aggressive I play with the setting Terry has recommended, it feels like the throttle is detanator. I have 2.3 gal tank. Can't really judge but my guess, is once a month. I buy my meth from my local race shop. 40 bucks for 5 gallons. Gotta pay to play.

$40 once a month for awesome powa is way worth it!!!
I was paying $15 a gallon for ms109 and $12 for 110
Getting 5-9 mpg, spending got out of hand quickly.
Do you have any pictures of the tank mounting location?

5 gallon tank will last between 2-3 months depending on how aggressive you drive.

What makes it such a pita to run the lines through the interior? I suspected this would be the biggest challenge, but didn't expect it to be a 4+ hour process. What specifically made it difficult? I didn't expect it to be very hard in the interior itself, as you can just tuck everything under the plastic door frames where they meet the carpet. I expect the challenge to be going from trunk to interior and interior to engine bay. Must every part of the hose be free of any pinching whatsoever? Where exactly did you run your lines? Can't you just fold the back seats down, run the line through, then fold seats back up as long as it's not a tight pinch? Then through the firewall used for the jb4? What is install like under the hood?

It's sounds easy but pulling up every panel without breaking the clip is the tedious part. Also, you also have to run the electrical wires from the trunk to the front as well. It's not hard it's just time consuming to make it look neat. Engine bay looks clean. Its obvious you have methanol injection but my SA is cool with me. They even said it look real clean and nicely done.
