What mod next??!

I have a 2008 335i with 76k miles. I just got done doing the OFHG and OCG. I also tackled the walnut blasting while I was in there.

The car currently has a JB4 (map5), BMI DCI, and VSRF CP w. Tial BOV.

I need to do the water-pump and t-stat next. I'm between doing the VRSF IC or the VRSF DP. Will either of these have benefit doing at the same time as the water-pump?

If I go the DP route, should I do the DP fix? I live in PA and we do emissions testing.

Should I consider another mod at the same time instead?

My theory is that when I do maintenance, I try to do an upgrade at the same time.

My goals for this car is moderate power, will likely keep the oem turbos.

PA emissions is a joke with the gas cap and for the rest it's visual. Technically speaking you would still have your secondaries in so unless the tech is aware that your car had 4 cats you're probably going to be fine.

I thought they plugged into the OBD port? I got a call from my shop they couldn't do it, had to drive down and turn the JB4 to map 0.

Sorry I just read up on your county so you have OBD, gas cap, and visual.

This is from one of their PDF's so you still might be able to get around it.

Thought of another question, given my mods, am I ok to do the DP before the IC?

I'm sure there's plenty of opinions on this, but for power increase, kitty-less DPs are definitely the way to go. That said, upgrading the FMIC will give you a small bump in power just from the lower IATs which probably long term helps with longevity of the engine/turbos as well.

If it were me, performance increase was my motivation and I could only afford one, I'd do kitty free DPs.
