G30 - Car and Driver First Drive

I had submitted the Top Gear one earlier and it seems like it generated a mixed reaction by the forum members. I like this new 5-Series, and I am now pumped to see the new M5.

Here's C&D's first drive (Why are the using the same photos as Top Gear ones!?):

TL;DR: It’s not a wholesale reawakening for the brand, but it’s enough to stoke our nostalgia.

It's funny how reviews differ. Automobile Magazine loved the steering whereas C&D said that while improved it still wasn't entirely to their liking. The only way to know for sure is to drive one for yourself.

Just to clarify, C&D only tested cars with IAS? From what I've heard, IAS dilutes the steering.

Disappointing that BMW's driver assist tech is still way behind. It sounds like it's not even as good as MB's and so far behind Tesla that it's uncertain BMW can catch up even by the end of this 5er's generation. I like the look of the car and will give it a drive when it appears in dealerships. Hopefully at least it drives well. However lagging technology is disappointing.
