Warranty questions (+general questions)
So my parents are getting rid of their 2013 Volvo XC60, and they're looking to get back in a BMW (had some in the 80s). Specifically a 2013 528i w/ 30k miles (they'll be the 2nd owner).
How is the warranty handled with this? Is the maintenance program transferable? Also does anyone know about how much the extended warranty is? Is it 4yr/100k mi? Thanks! Sidenote: how reliable are these N20s (common issues)? Can I DIY routine maintenance (I can handle it on my N52 no issues)?

Maintenance warranty expires when the factory warty expires, 4years/50K miles, whichever comes first.
I think BMW gets about $4K for their CPO warranty which would add an additional 2years/50K miles to the existing warranty for a total of 6 years/100K miles. I would advise getting at least a 535 - I doubt they'll be happy with a 528.

The warranty is still transferable for these years. The new ones aren't.
The extended one that I'm looking at getting is 4 years 100k miles is $3400 To Quicksilver point; yes everyone wants a 535 but if your parents are content with a 528 then definitely get that one. |

Also trust me if it were me I'd be getting the 535, but my parents are the least particular people when it comes to engine size. Mid 200hp is plenty for them, plus let (potential) maintenance. Does the 535 have any options that the 528 cant come with? To put it in perspective, they're quite excited to get a reverse camera. Plus my mom drove an E28 528i back in the day - having another 528i is very exciting to her

Ummmmmm.... just look up N63...
In terms of your parents desertman123; I believe they will be good with a 528.I recommend you just take them to nearest dealer and test drive a few cars. And after you have a few you'll like, post them on here and get everyone opinions. |
