When you get into the sub 7:30 times you really have to take note because this is miles cheaper than it's nearest rival, regardless of what Nissan decide to charge extra for the pleasure.

My only concern is it's already way harder than the M3, 997TT and all others so what will this V-spec not be like in comparison. But if you can put up with that then it's the Ultimate sportscar.

Watch out for this one too. The LF-A supposedly ran an unofficial 7:24 in the Ring. http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/forum...ng-7-24-a.html

gbb357,

When you think about it the Japanese are moving into a league of their own with regarding to price vs performance.

At which point will the European brands consider they are charging WWAAAAAYYY over the odds for the performance on offer, like I love Porsches but I couldn't personally justify the extra money involved for a 997tt over that of a GTR.

If they price the LF-A right like Nissan did with GTR, then they should have no problem selling it. So far the rumor is $100k for the LF-A. It might be reasonable, but any much higher than that would be a tough sell.

+1

Pricing will be a huge factor for the LF-A. A couple of reasons. Firstly, Lexus is newly entering the market with the IS-F and LF-A. People like their cars to have a little history, like the M3.

IF they get the pricing right I dont think Lexus will have such a problem selling the LF-A. It looks great so far, unlike the IS-F. Styling of the IS-F is one of main reasons people are put of it. It is also rumoured to be V10 powered. That would be great.

I probably will be priced will above the GTR, but it's brand has got a much better image in the US than Nissan regarding quality and luxury so that should allow them to price higher and get away with it.

Whether they could go as far as $100K is another thing, how does that compare to the price of a 997TT in the US?

Another thing, Toyota (the parent company) are in Formula One which is the highest image for motorsport you can get, Nissan aren't in this series so even though the image of GTR is high among the Playstation generation the normal buyer of these cars from new will be more into Brand image than model history.

No I reckon the LF-A will sell well.

what they are offering for the amount you spend is just amazing, but people are still going to look down upon those cars as mainstream cars, due to the fact of their badge or price.

for me I don't mind because on the LF-A and GTR, I'm sure you're going to get toyota & nissan reliability

I forgot the quality issue completely. The interior and class of the exterior will def help the LF-A. It has looked very promising throughout it's development and Concepts, unlike the GTR. Even still, I have some issues with the GTR's design. Inside and out.

I don't think so....My bet is 7:3X for the ZR1! GTR is technical marvel to be able to do that though
