VTT Turbo Basics: WGDC and what it means

Hey guys,

We've been working on a series of articles to help educate the N54 crowd. The first one of the VTT Turbo Basics series is about wastegate duty cycle, what it means, when it matters, and some very basic concepts. We're pretty excited about these and have some other really awesome ones coming soon too. If there is anything major you guys want... shoot me an email at chris@vargasturbo.com and maybe we'll write an article going over the basics of the subject.

Hope you enjoy. Any questions... ask away.

Best,
Chris

Nice easy to understand for people like me, I have no practical knowledge, well written and concise enough to keep my attention and not filled with useless tech numbers only those who already know would be able to process.
I subscribed, looking to see more, Thanks Tom

Hi Chris, nice piece of knowledge here. Sorry to revive an old thread but I have a question:

If I do a log, what are the measured WGDC values? The actual values that are being applied or just the demanded values by the DME?

I ask this because I have some issues with turbo spooling and I'd like to know if I can diagnose bad boost solenoids with this value.

Thank you

Measured WGDC is just demanded, not actual.
