Aquamist mated to JB4

My N55 335i runs near perfect with the JB4, it's FBO. When I turn on the aquamist, it stalls, sputters and goes into limp mode with the check engine light on! The aquamist has all unchanged factory settings and trims. It seems like the amount of 1:1 meth:water is drowning out the engine. With any acceleration the meth flows and it starts stalling at 1500 RPMs. Anyone with a similar setup or advice for a solution or trim adjustment? Thres, gain, and P/I-R need to be changed but I'm not sure how.

Have you flow tested your nozzles to make sure the spray pattern is good?

No offense, but while meth can be safe, it would be wise to read up on how to set everything up. I'm 100% certain that the information you need to know can be found online, prior to spraying stuff into your engine.

The installer put the smallest included nozzle on after trying the larger two. I've adjusted the thres and gain so it flows well and doesn't flood the engine on maps 1 and 2. It still goes into limp mode from flooding the engine on maps 3 and 5. I'll put up a log once I figure that out. The installer has no idea how to tune it and there's no one else around with experience. Maps 1 and 2 now run great with the AM kit running.

I've replaced the JB4 with an MHD tune. It's definitely smoother and I haven't driven enough to comment on power. The aquamist hfs-4 is still problematic. I've had two installers verify the install. A third installer suggested upgrading to NGK 5992 spark plugs with 18/1000" gaps. He thought the hesitation and misfires were from the water extinguishing the spark. So...I've tried 50% meth and still had misfires in cylinder 3 and 4 like before. I went to 100% meth and it drove without hesitation. After gradually reducing the meth %, around 75-80% meth yields good results. The risk of fire has me a bit on edge as I would prefer to run just 50% meth. The tuners from MHD have been very helpful and originally suggested 75%+ meth. The nozzle size is 0.8mm and appropriate for the engine size. The installers said the spray pattern was great. Aquamist has been intermittently helpful but the flow sensor is leaking and the installer with the same system in his own car cannot find the source but says all the seals are clean and intact. The hfs-4 never functioned correctly direct from the factory as I had to decrease the gain all the way down and significantly increase the threshold to get the system to function at all. For the price of the hfs-4 and the install work, I could have easily put in a big turbo...but hindsight is 20/20 and now there's an aquamist system installed. So, buyer beware, make sure you know the product AND have an experienced installer do the work.

How was Aquamist support ?
Any failsafe controllers being used?
I would not run more than 50% meth for my own safety reasons maybe for drag days I'll up the % but thats it.
Cant believe a tuner would say run 75% on something you're having issues dialing in

Aquamist has only been intermittently helpful. I ordered directly from the UK, emailed the next day that my car has a pneumatic waste gate, then 3 weeks later an electronic waste gate unit was mailed. I had to solder on an additional resistor. Now the flow sensor is leaking and aquamist wants me to mail it back for inspection. The installer has the same unit and said the seals are clean and intact. I'm anxious about running over 50% meth but it hesitates with less than 70%. It may be wise to wait until warmer weather to continue titrating the meth settings and % meth.

The JB4 is gone now I have an MHD tune, but the hfs4 had serious hesitation and then recurring limp mode when installed. Meth would flow in all maps even when the two systems were linked. Terry really tried to help but it never functioned together. I saw that post- maybe the same problem.
