Edit: It was loud - it's still loud, but it does seem to have become WAAAYY more civil. I went home, had the clamps re-tightened (there seems to be a minor leak though) and reset adaptations. It's still raspy as hell around 2K RPM, but the volume seems to have dropped significantly while I was driving to work today. Around 3000rpm-4500 or so at partial throttle, the car is civil - seriously. There is still some rasp, but it's volume isn't outrageous as it was before. Power was abysmal at first too - I felt like I was stuck in 5th and 6th gear...which I was, because taking it above 4000RPM is still loud. But as I drove more and more, the car started to pick up a bit here and there. I finally got a change to to a flat out 4th gear pull and it's pretty awesome - I'll keep you updated Last edited by Taskmaster; 11-11-2016 at 07:26 AM.. |

Went by a coworker in the next lane near redline on the freeway and with windows up he said it was about as loud as a loud Harley. Not really a big deal as far as he was concerned.

Not even remotely. Headers, no secondaries, and a race muffler, now that's ear shattering. I've had both, there's a world of difference.

Oh hellz yeah! I can start the car at five in the morning and it's not a big deal. Now it's going to set off alarms even with the garage door closed. Probably violates trackside noise limits for some tracks.

Yeah, I'll need to install the SS mids tomorrow, they are too long and I can't cut them this late. The headers are in, and finishing up the final touches...

Yes it's loud. I had MMW headers, to SS midpipes, to a PE.

Headers and PE sounds AMAZING, but VERY loud over 4K with *some* rasp on deceleration.

Exactly, you can make the decision to deafen the public or just drive like it's a normal exhaust.

It's not streetable. 2000RPM causes a weird harmonic that rasps so loud, but it calms down all the way up to around 3k. It will still be a tad raspy over that, but it's not loud..until you give the car more than 30% throttle.
Dependingon the RPM and the throttle position it could be decent - and then instantly too loud. I can't. Oh, and the smell is terrible. High flow cat, bottle resonators and a good muffler are coming up asap. |
