Replacing my valve cover due to PCV; what else?

So, I bit the bullet and ordered my new valve cover because of the squeal noise coming from the main seal. Funny how it goes away when I remove JB4.. hmm.. Anyways, I plan on sticking with JB4 in the mean time while all of the MHD maps are ironed out.

I bought replacement spark plugs while I'm there. Car has 73K, anything else I need to address while I'm there?

Replacing your valve cover due to PCV, why?

You can replace the valve on its own.

Technically you can. On a N55 valve cover the PCV is non serviceable. Some people sell just the diaphragm but requires cutting the original cap and using some type of adhesive to glue the cap back on.

I'd rather not..

I just had to do this. Not sure why it would go away with JB4 though. Maybe coincidence? I did main seal first, squeal came back.

Then I did valve cover. Hasn't come back.

Was not aware of that, thank you.

I assumed it would be the same as N54. I changed mine with updated PCV valve.

Did you DIY it yourself? Did you need to buy the special injector removal tool?

I did not. Shop replaced main seal thinking it was that, even when I told them it wasn't the root cause. They replaced valve cover for just cost of parts.

If you have oil in your spark plug wells, it may not be from a leaking VC gasket, but from the spark plug insert to head gasket. To replace those, the injectors need to be removed.

I found mine quite leaky even though my VC gasket was fine.
