PTF still supporting the E90???

Sorry if this is common knowledge now, I have been away from the blog for a while due to being too busy at work.

I have reached out to them a few times about getting my tune tightened up, and there has been no response back. I know Cobb has dropped support, but hopefully PTF will honor their tune package I purchased....

Dont hold your breath. I've been emailing them since july in regards to fine tuning my tune, and still havent gotten any response back. MHD is on its way, so I've given up, and am just waiting to get that, along with a new tuner.

Their webpage still says that they are not taking on new N54/N55 customers, as they're prioritizing their efforts into R&D for the F series; which they're now into beta.

As PTF also supports the MHD platform, they may dive back into N55. With the new developments that are currently peaking interest for potential new customers and JB4 converts.

Keep trying, I'm sure Dzenno will (at some point) get back to you or see if he's posting in any f series related forums.

I asked PTF today if they plan on doing custom maps for MHD on the N55 and he said "We don’t have plans for it in the immediate future due to F series development." So idk. Looking for a new tuner myself.

Good stuff guys, thanks. Looks like I need to find a cheap Android tablet and get that going.

So that being said, will I need to unpair my Cobb and go back to stock before I can load the MHD tunes?

Yes

Makes no sense to throw MHD a curve ball, with a base map that it isn't expecting.

You definitely don't need to Uninstall cobb. I did it with a partially flashed (interrupted) and MHD flashed without issue.

FYI - I don't know that I'd say PTF has completely dropped tuning for non F owners. They've dropped MHD/COBB but they're currently beta testing another option all together. BootMod3

Seems to be similar to an MHD option, but never seen anything about it previously.

Good luck trying to uninstall that Cobb AP.

Should have uninstalled the Cobb AP, throw up it up for sale, and then install MHD.

bootmod3 is PTF's new platform for F-series N55 tuning. It will not work for E-series N55s. Dzenno has been spending almost all his time developing bootmod3 since early summer. While I was able to get him to revise a tune since then it was maddeningly slow (like a month for him to reply to emails) and he has not replied to my subsequent request for him to revise a tune for a different fuel (I had paid for two different maps for different fuel types). It does appear that he has dropped the ball on his E-series customers in order to develop a product for F-series owners. Really disappointing.

PTF does not give a FUUUUK

Dzenno basically gave me the same run around back in July so I wouldnt hold your breath. He flat out told me that they are focusing on F series and are a small outfit that can only do so much. When I really pushed on him as I was having issues with the 19 revision he offered me a refund rather than continue tuning. I responded saying he had done a lot of work and I did not want a refund, only his word we could pick back up on revisions to my map once he got the F series going.

He never responded and that was 5 months ago.

Basically they have our money and dont intend to support us any longer....FU...FU very much PTF!

After paying for an etune twice Im left holding the bag

Well, I'm almost glad I didn't get a response now. Would have made me furious. I got a few revisions on my tune, and now I'm stuck getting the P36CA(if i remember right) code. Happens about a quarter of the time I get into boost at part throttle. Shuts the whole car down. I guess were all kind of in limbo until MHD is fully up and running.

Yeah I am pretty butthurt over it all.

I am having issues now with misfires and loss of power accompanied with clouds of black smoke pouring out of the exhaust, and occasionally the yellow half engine light of death when I get aggressive with the throttle. I have had similar issues before that were remedied with minor tune tweaks and new plugs, but I would still like to run some logs and get some insight from PTF....

Looks like I am going to be asking for an Android tablet for Christmas from my wife.

Wow I hadn't realized that. That's crazy that they've decided to completely drop us like that. I'd hate to see their long term business plan with that kind of service.

Well at least a few of you were able to have some sort of communication with PTF. I emailed them a handful of times over the last few months and got 0.0 response from them. I already had tunes from them but was looking for an E85 Map. It was is blessing in disguise because I decided to dump the COBB and make the jump to MHD. I wish I would have done it sooner. The OTS maps from MHD are better than any custom tune I had from PTF. Much better power delivery. Night and day difference for a daily driver.

MHD is the only way to go. I hope the platform continues to evolve with the support of Companies like MHD and the site vendors who have been a part of the community from the get go.

Maybe they dumped it because Cobb fucked everyone over with software that had issues with no updates on anything N55 related coming from Cobb. You can't say they didn't try hard as hell if you guys got 19 revisions or something?? My tune works perfect. I haven't had any issues with it at all. Maybe they come out with their own E series N55 stuff to help them get this done right or take it further who knows.
