Rogue Engineering short shift kit?
I just took my M2 home a week or so ago, but already have the yips with its 6MT stick. It doesn't strike me as very precise at all. One would think BMW would shorten the throw and provide more positive feel, but sloppy seems to be BMW OEM whether you buy an M car or a standard model.
I have been working a Rogue Engineering short shift on my E36 M3 for a few years and it's a fantastic upgrade. A flick of the wrist gets you from gear to gear, and every shift is positive and precise. Has anyone installed a short shift kit in an M2, either the Rogue or UUC? Care to share your thoughts on performance? If there is another SS option around, would be interested in hearing that as well. |

I have the same question. Rogue or UUC (or other) SSK?

I also got an Ultimate Clutch Pedal, that shortens and stiffens the pedal stroke, which in my opinion is too long and too wimpy. |

I really, really like the Rogue shifter on my E36 M3, but I have never tried the UUC version. I know 'notchy' is not supposed to be a good thing, but that's actually what I like about the Rogue shifter. It takes a good firm push or pull to go from gear to gear, and the stick very precisely locks into place with a 'click' as you move from one shift position to the next. The throw is tight enough you don't much need to work your forearm... I can grab the stick near the bottom of the shift knob and work through all the gears just flexing my wrist and fingers.

I've had the UUC since May and it's a huge improvement. No more rubbery feel, very precise action with much shorter throws. Combine it with the BMS Clutch Stop and you're golden.

I think they're actually all the same. Would you mind posting a pic of your SSK installed? On the M3/M4, the UUC kit was crooked on two levels for some people. The shift rod did not sit centered like OEM, and the shift knob was twisted. Hit or miss though, as some got a straight one.

I called UUC and talked it out with them. It's the M235i SSK, which I believe also happens to fit the M3/M4. The UUC dude said they were going to specifically label the SSK as M2 compliant, or whatever, but I guess they haven't done that yet...

How is the stick height with the UCC kit? The stock height felt a little high to me, and the kit allows for adjustment of the height (as does the UCC knob, if you order one of the ones that allows for additional height adjustment).
