What module is updated for Dinan flash... may have a problem.

The dealer will need to update the DME on my car for the 25k oil change problem. I suspect this is the same component where the Dinan flash resides.

Some questions...

1. If this 25k oil change problem doesnt happen to everybody... why ?

2. Shouldnt the software be the same on the same models manufactured around the same time ?

3. If the Dinan flash is stored in the DME , wouldnt that dictate the Dinan code would display the same problems in my car ?

4. If the BMW tech is comming out to the dealer to reprogram the affected area does this mean its going to be a hacked code , never released to the public ? please note they stated it would be released in 30 days or so to every dealer.

I placed a call to Dinan to discuss their software location.

spoke with A Dinan Engineer so question #3 is answered as follows (though my experience with flashing firmware tells differently)...

He stated they only update the code for the engine, when pressed he stated bmw will update the entire engine code and the Dinan code will overwrite only the lines that it pertains to. So according to him it sounds like I should be safe.
