I'm looking at purchasing an intake for my 2011 BMW 335I Sedan N55. I just got my car and not really to familiar with BMW's so I might have a few questions. Which do you guys recommend is the best? I'm looking more for the loudest sound. I'm looking at either Injen, BMS, or AFE. Unless there are other intakes I should look at? All options and inputs greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Get whatever is cheapest. Your only going to be getting sound and no significant power gain. If your ok with that just go with bms

I don't really mind spending an extra $100. Honestly from reading and looking it up, I was leaning more towards the Injen intake, but I'm not sure if anyone has any good feedback or if they heard them or tried more then one intake out personally? I'm personally looking for the loudest sounding intake.

If you wanted the loudest intake, you could get the BMS Intake and an aftermarket diverter valve. Thats if you want the BOV sound.

Can you not run a normal bov in the n55?

No, the valve is on the compressor housing of the turbo, not on the charge pipe.

I have BMS and love it. it is loud and you hear the "blow off" sounds and whistles a lot.

that being said, I would get the Injen for 1 reason only, you can get the piece that goes from the turbo inlet up to the intake also. Having this whole length unrestricted with the same diameter is a plus. that and my stock plastic turbo inlet is leaking

Not going to have any noticeable gains with any of them. It's going to be a difference in sound. Ive had Injen and switched to the BMS. BMS cheaper and better sound if you like to listen to the engine. Easier to remove the BMS too which was a big plus for me since I do all my own work. Like I said you're not going to notice the difference between 2-3whp on the butt dyno.

I know an intake is not going to give me any noticeable gains and I honestly didn't care about that, just wanted the loudest sound/ spool & it to sound like a bov and from watching videos it seemed like the Injen sounded the best and loudest? Like a $100 does not make a difference to me and I install everything myself so Im not worried about that just the loudest best sounding intake.

Injen is loudest. adding a charge pipe adds sound too. I just did it and didn't expect any more noise but you do get more air/wooshing sounds

I have the BMS intake along with VRSF charge pipe and intercooler. I put them all on at the same time so I can't say which one adds the most sound, but I have plenty of silly turbo whooshing and whistling noises.

I ran injen on n55 in SoCal for 6 months and swapped it for BMS intake towards the end of this summer. With Injen on a 95+ degree day I was getting constant IAT too high logged and CEL on really hot days when in stop and go traffic. I also run a Dinan FMIC for reference. Once swapped to BMS no more IAT too high logged on equally hot days to Injen issues with IAT. I would recommend BMS over Injen if you live in a hot climate.

Texas checking in and agreeing with above post. Plus, the plastic BMS setup and filter looks sort of OEM.

Definitely better. Both from a filtering aspect and from a performance aspect since aftermarket intake HP per $ is really low. Ingesting more dirt into your engine isn't a good idea IMO and high flow filters = more debris in your engine.

I have the injen one and it sounds really nice - i've heard it next to a BMS one and the injen one sounds much nicer and is louder.

Performance-wise i've never had both so i'm surprised at @jarmend comment that "Once swapped to BMS no more IAT too high logged on equally hot days to Injen issues with IAT. I would recommend BMS over Injen if you live in a hot climate."
