i8 Full ECU Performance Tune Group Buy interest?

Hi guys, I am posting this thread to see if there is any interest for an i8 Full ECU Performance Tune? My friend, who owns and runs one of the most respected BMW aftermarket specialty shops in the East (AUTOcouture Motoring or ACM for short) offers it at their shop. I was going to get it done but figured it would be worth a shot to get a group of i8 owners together and he agreed that if we got 5 people to do it, he would discount the price. The actual tune itself is from DMEtuning and will be done in-house at ACM East. Performance gains are 40-HP / 100-TQ.

Retail cost is $2,495. If we get 5 or more people, he will do it for $1,995.

I had my M4 tuned by them and it was outstanding!

Anybody have any interest in getting in with me on this Group Buy?

If we are getting technical, there really isn't a mod that will "void" your warranty. I'm implying that if you install said mod, your car will indeed have its warranty intact. However, if your car runs in to an issue that needs to be fixed under a warranty claim and the manufacturer deems the issue to be caused by said mod, they can deny you the warranty claim to fix the issue.

Well said. And as you know If the car is tuned, BMW will know this occurred because the DME has the data. Every second the car is driven is recorded, and a quick scan can show points where boost/torque/fuel request parameters exceed stock tolerances. So it doesn't matter if the tune is removed. The data is still there.

In any event I thought ACM had a west coast presence? If so I might be interested in a flash.

I spoke to Sal, the owner, and he said this tune can only be done in-person at the East location. However, he said that he would honor the GB if you were to ship him the ECU to the East store. So if you are on the West coast or just too far away to drive, you can always ship him the ECU.
