Have BMWNA pay for my track brakes!

So, I was taking delivery of my M2 and the F&I guy says " for $700 we will perform all maintenance for 36 months including BRAKES ". Now I am that guy who never bites on the up-sell for anything , but as a track rat I put pads on my last track car every other month and rotors every other pad change . I will start tracking the car in near stock form and will slowly upgrade, but I know I will need at least 2 brake jobs in the first year of ownership. My dad said if it sounds too good to be true, it isn't ....but I told the guy at the dealership about track use and he said no problem.
Is anyone else taking this approach?

They will not cover track use of the brakes.

If they won't cover track use, how about spirited driving on public roads.. I will keep you posted.

If you bring your car in every 5k miles you'll get denied. Especially when they find this thread.

Every 10k? I don't think they will need this thread to realize most M2s will see track time. What they really need to do is educate their dealerships to be honest with customers , especially when the customer is honest with them.

Why not? Does the maintenance or warranty policy exclude track use?

Yes. Specifically stated in the warranty book that comes with the car.

You may be right, but all of us were sold the idea of a " track ready " car....every ad, promo, and dealership sells this concept.....only to deliver a car with a warranty book in the glove box with disclaimers ,after we hand them 60k. While our brakes may not be covered under "warranty " , the 3/36 " maintenance "contract should cover these items. Only time will tell, but I , and many others, bought these cars after talking at length with our SA about tracking the car. All the Porshe owners and Corvette guys tell me how their dealerships honored track related repairs, whereas the GTR guys usually get denied coverage. I recently noticed that at DE events, especially with Chin Motorsports, the P cars and to a lesser extend , corvettes, have taken over. I sincerely hope BMW follows Porsche and reinforces its M car message by covering our claims. Anyhow, it's a great car and I know we all look forward to many great miles on road and track.

There' "Owner influence" so easy to deny your claim from track use or abuse. You may get lucky and get a cool tech to warranty it for you ONCE. But good luck getting full brakes every 10K miles. Whomever was trying to sell you the upgrade was just trying to sell you the upgrade.

It's really easy to tell that your car was tracked or abused. Rotor Vanes will be red/rust colored vs gray. Your dust boots will be brittle, your calipers slightly discolored. If you're using OEM pads they leave streaky deposits. Plus as mentioned before BMW NA will find this thread.

At least BMW isn't like Subaru or Mitsubishi where they scout vins and plates at track and autocross events and flag the cars for warrantee denial.
