New Performance Steering wheel installed

Got the new performance wheel installed in the car last week, the one with the shift lights and lcd display.

It feels fantastic and somehow better weighted, but I don't know how. Ayway, it's nice having oil and temp right in front of you and shift lights are really good, no need to look at the invisible dash

Il post pictures tomorrow

I am also considering this wheel. I spend a lot of time on the track and need real time temps and shift lights. On the BMW site it says you need all new electrics and airbag to swap wheels.....is that correct? Also, can you switch lights and dats off easily . They reference some built in lap timer, is this a true track timer, like AIM, or just a fancy stopwatch. Looking forward to pics.....enjoy your ride!

You can find and download the manual for this from the net.
There are 2 buttons on it with which you can control it. Turn on/off/start/reset etc. The timer is just a watch, you can start/stop it. Although there are some extra features like sector or multiple laps, and it has a memory function.

I'm in the UK so install price might not mean anything to you. The wheel, timing cable, and installation was £1500.

I had the previous version on my 1M and they are very similar however there are some new functions for lap timing in this one. also, it's got the carbon centre piece which looks the business

I promise il put photos up tomorrow.

Haha nice! Is it hard getting used to the lights on the wheel, or does your peripheral vision naturally accept them hehe.

Nah its perfect. Unless its really bright day, i just keep focused on the road in front and you see the lights come on around 5000 then (on mine) at 6300rpm flash and change.

You can set the shift lights to come on earlier but i find this is spot on.
