I installed rwd Eibach Springs on my stock suspension lci xdrive.
The front end the car seems to be riding just on the bump stops there is no play in suspension.

I was curious as to which bump stops to use e36 m3 or z4?

I used the e36 M3 for the front. They'll give you a little less then an inch more travel if I remember correctly. But every little bit counts with the xdrive.

The conventional wisdom is E36 M3 front and Z4M rear. This is what I went with originally with my B&G springs (they drop maybe 1/2" more than Eibach) and Koni FSD shocks. The E36 M3 front bump stops were too soft when combined with the FSD shocks and the front end was bottoming out. The FSD shocks go soft in response to large impacts and the E36 M3 front bump stops just couldn't catch them from bottoming out.

I ditched the E36 M3 fronts for Speedthane progressive polyurethane bump stops and they made a huge improvement in preventing the FSD shocks from bottoming out. They come in three levels of stiffness and I chose the stiffest ones because of the way the FSD shocks behave, going soft on sharp impacts.

For shocks other than FSDs, you probably don't need quite as stiff of a bump stop, but I'd still rather do some of the Speedthane ones than the very-soft E36 M3 ones. I'd suggest the medium stiffness for other shocks. They are available here:

They do require a little ingenuity with the dust boots because the diameter of the bump stop is too small at the top to hold it up to the upper shock mount. My dust boots in front are zip-tied to the lower spring perch.

I still have the Z4M rear stops. Maybe I'll change them out at some point but they're mostly fine. The BMW part number for those is 33507836826.

I installed dinan bumpstops with eibachs springs and koni yellows, they're shorter than stock, about the same as m3 bumpstops

Still debating on which I should do anyone else have any input.
Right now I'm leaning toward e36 m3 fronts.

I'm thinking of ordering bumpstops when ordering the conies as well

You need custom struts for the set up to work correctly. TC kline and a few other companies chop koni yellows to work.

I just bought KW V1s, when I put the e36 it felt slightly better than before with stock bump stoops, will be selling my eibachs soon if anyone's interested.
