Retro fitting iDrive 5.0, there's hope

So there's hope after all... Some guy here has successfully retrofitted 5.0 on an F30. The bad news is, it's not just software base. So to retrofit our cars with a new head unit and software will cost around $1K CND. Which leads to the question... is it worth it? I like the mirroring and Apple Play feature, but I can use that 1K on some other stuff too.

Very surprised it's only $1k for the new unit.

I don't think it's the entire unit, but I'll update this post when they have more info.
